Low vision doesn't mean you can't drive. I got my license recently -- despite being legally blind -- using a bioptic lens, a small telescope mounted on a pair of glasses.
A bioptic lens system can often increase acuity sufficiently to meet your state's vision requirements. Car technology, too, continues to make driving safer for persons with disabilities.
On Wednesday, April 4) the National Organization of Albinism & Hypopigmentation (NOAH) will present "Bioptic Driving," a 1-hour webinar starting at 8:30 PM, EST.
The presentation -- by certified orientation and mobility specialist Chuck Huss -- will discuss how bioptic driving works, how to find specialized training, and information on state driving regulations and resources.
