National Braille Press Upates Introductory iPhone Book

Getting Started with the iPhone & iOS 5 for Blind Users

National Braille Press has released Getting Started with the iPhone and iOS 5 for Blind Users -- an update of Anna Dresner and Dean Martineau's introductory iPhone book released last year.

This second edition discusses the new features in Apple's iOS 5.o, its operating system for mobile devices, including the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The book provides information on the iPhone 4S, including using Siri, its built-in voice assistant.

The book walks users through the processes of phone setup, layout, and how to download and use apps. It teaches the gestures needed to use the iPhone and provides troubleshooting tips and a list of resources.

Getting Started with the iPhone and iOS 5 for Blind Users is available in braille (3 volumes), as well as in eBraille, Word, ePUB, and DAISY formats.
