Enhanced Vision has launched the Pebble-Mini, a smaller version of its Pebble portable electronic magnifier designed to help people with low vision perform daily reading tasks. The Pebble-Mini retails for $295.
Pebble-Mini features include:
- Bright, 3-inch LCD display that magnifies text and images from 2X to 10X
- Choice of 28 viewing modes and adjustable brightness
- "Freeze image" feature that supports mode and magnification changes
- Image capture with save and recall
- Hands-free reading stand
- USB charger (AC or PC)
- Protective pouch and neck strap
- 2-year warranty
The Pebble Mini is about $200 cheaper than the Pebble, placing it among the least expensive portable CCTVs on the market.
Mobile apps such as VisionAssist for Apple iOS devices, however, cost $5.99. VisionAssist offers many of the same features as the Pebble, though the optics are inferior.
