Learning Ally is bringing the top six winners of this years National Achievement Awards to Washington, DC to kick off its annual Record-a-Thon week, which begins Monday, February 27.
The students will share their stories in a New American Alliance (NAA) roundtable, The Impact of Access, on that morning on Capitol Hill, and their awards (each will receive a $6,000 scholarship) at an evening ceremony at the Washington Court Hotel.
The awards recognize students who are blind, visually impaired, or learning disabled who demonstrate academic excellence, community leadership, and a spirit of giving back to others.
During Record-A-Thon week, Learning Ally volunteers fill its national network of 19 recording studios to 100% capacity to increase production of digital audio textbooks and other accessible content for the students and schools they serve.
